“Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with [ALL] your heart.
‘I will be found by you,’ declares the L-rd.”
[Jeremiah 29:12-14]
How is it possible that we can find G-d (in every literal term)?
A very real G-d wants you to Call on Him, to seek Him, to pray to Him, and He gives the promise that [He will listen.]
Not only does He say He will listen, but He declares, you will FIND HIM.
Now Here is the kicker – “When you seek Me with ALL your heart ‘I will be found by you,’ declares the L-rd.”
You might be asking yourself -“What does it mean to seek G-d with all your heart?” Or maybe you are saying, “How do I seek G-d with all my heart?”
This is where Faith steps in.
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”
[Hebrews 11:1]
Seeking G-d is walking with G-d.
Finding G-d is the act of pursuing Him, knowing Him, and finding out who He is.
It is coming to a point where G-d is more real than the chair you’re sitting on.
Think about that for a second.
G-d. The G-d who created the sun, moon, and stars, who made everything, that G-d, He is more real than the very chair that you sit on;. This is Faith.
I realize you can’t see Him, but I promise if you seek after Him, you can’t help but see Him in every part of this world, because the earth screams out who He is. A lot of times we don’t realize that desperation deep inside of us that is longing for something more, more satisfaction, more fulfillment, most of time, just more.
That ‘more’ is the longing of G-d and His longing for you.
Why does it take the point of desperation to allow us to be so vulnerable with our need for the only place G-d can fulfill?
As we walk the streets of El Salvador, I have come across people who are desperate. They are desperate to see G-d and watch Him move and a lot of times, they don’t even realize that’s what they are looking for. We were walking in a park waiting on the voice of the Holy Spirit, going to whomever He would lead us to. There were several people He told us to speak with, but one specific woman comes to mind.
She looked lonely, broken, and hopeless.
She was thirsty, not a smile could be drawn. With blood shot eyes, blisters on her lips, and deformities on her skin, she told us how she was homeless. We got her a glass of water and asked if we could pray for her. She shook her head yes. As I laid my hands upon her arm and leg, knowing the true hand i am extending is G-d’s, I began to declare the healing of G-d on her life.
No sooner than saying, “In Jesus name, amen,” did I see a smile beam from her face and her blood shot eyes turned completely white and her skin looked better.
The G-d of the universe, my Daddy, and best friend stands beside me. And He will stand beside you if you allow Him too.
G-d is a gentleman and will never force Himself upon you, but that doesn’t change His furious longing for you to be in communion with Him.
Seek Him.
Call upon Him.
Search for Him with all of your heart, you will find Him.
How do I know? Because He never waivers from His promise or His word.
“The One who calls you is faithful and He will do it.”
[1 Thess. 5:24]
