G-d always has bigger plans.

My team and i left Rwanda heading for Uganda expecting to spend the next month in this country, but G-d had bigger plans. Upon arrival, we ended up finding out about the Ebola breakout and The World Race quickly decided to reroute us to Kenya.
On the 31st of August we left for the bus station at 10pm and took an over night bus where we stopped at the border of Uganda & Kenya at 3am.

Border crossings in general… suck. They are a very long, drawn out process but especially at 3am with a bunch of white people that stick out like sore thumbs. Regardless, we made it through and around 5 am we are greeted by several very happy, huge smiling Kenyans to take us to our host families.

This month, everyone had team changes and i went from Team Arise to now my current team, The Remnant with Melissa, Peggy, Andrea (who were ladies from my first team – Rafa Warriors) & a new addition, Christiana. i absolutely love all of these women and we have been blessed with incredible hosts. Pastor Jackson & his wife, Jen who we refer to as Momma are some of the sweetest, kindest, most joy filled people i have ever met. It is very rare to find Pastor or Momma without a smile and every time we are around either of them we laugh a lot.

They also have setup a really neat schedule for us. We do
-Door to door evangelism 2x a week
-Go to hospitals to pray over people once a week
-Go to cell groups 2x a week for Bible study/praise & worship/Prayer
-Orphanage ministry 1-2x a week
-&Then we are able to preach at his church of a congregation of 200-300 people.

It’s been really neat to have exposure of doing just about every type of ministry other than prison ministry or homeless ministry & really connecting with their church/members. i feel so blessed to be working with these people and i know Daddy spoiled us this month with our contacts.

If everyone could also be in major prayer for my health as well, for those of you who do not know, i got Malaria in Rwanda & have been sick for about a month & half now… It’s been a very humbling position because there are some days i just am too weak to do anything and other days where i’m fine, but regardless for those of you who know me well… I’m stubborn especially with my health. & a lot of times i like to push through and act like nothing is wrong, but this time i can’t and it has been a difficult journey for me, especially to miss out on ministry. Not to make anyone worry about me, because I’m FINE, however i could use all the prayer i can get to continue to rapidly get better.

i love you all very much, thank you for your continued to support & prayer & writing me emails. i love receiving emails & comments so please don’t stop. i hope this gives everyone a nice little update of whats been going on.
Be blessed! :]
