Seeing physical healings happen in front of me is not new or unexpected. On previous mission trips i’ve seen G-d heal several blind people, several deaf, several lame/paralyzed. I’ve seen people healed of AIDS & STD’s, along with people being healed of simple things like coughs, TB, malaria, and i’m sure i could write a much longer list of what I’ve seen G-d heal, but you get the point.
Miracles and healings are not something new to me, however for some reason i haven’t seen as many healed as in the past. I’ve seen a few people delivered and one little boy that was deaf in Nicaragua healed, but i’m not just happy with a few miracles happening once in awhile.
i believe the normal Christian life should be like the apostles that were sent out by Jesus in Matthew 10.
“…And gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness… As you go, preach this message. The Kingdom of heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have been given, freely give.” [vs. 1, 7-8]
Heal the Sick.
Raise the dead.
Cleanse those who have leprosy.
Drive out demons.
These last few days i have been crying out to G-d asking, “L-rd, why aren’t people being healed when i tell them to be healed? G-d i am frustrated and i don’t understand why, because i know You can do this.”
& then G-d directed me toward a tiny little book called Dependence upon the Lord by KP Yohannan and i received a revelation of how i took my dependance off of G-d without realizing it. i started to rely more on how i prayed or what i said in my prayers rather then on the G-d that can cure & heal anyone of anything. Somehow i got off track relying more on my own words or if maybe i pray a certain way or say something specific people will be healed…
There is no method to seeing G-d heal people. There is no right thing to say or to perform.
Healings are an outward expression of love to His people to magnify His power and His love for that person.
All G-d wants is willing men, women, and children that will step out in faith & fully depend on their Daddy to show up. Without Him we can’t do anything. Without His power working in & through us, we won’t see healing or the miraculous take place, however the privilege He gives us is He wants to use you and i. He wants to use you as His instrument to perform His great power.
(Wow… That’s friggen awesome. He wants to use us even though He is fully capable of doing it without us.)
Let me tell you about healing #1 that happened in the last few days.
The night of August 16th i was watching the documentary, Finger of God which talks about the power of Jesus Christ through physical manifestations of healing. They are going through men & women all over the world that are seeing G-d move in outrageous ways and people getting radically healed all the time. One of my favorite people that they video is Heidi Baker who has seen over 80 people raised from the dead (haha – YES, raised from the dead) and countless miracles take place every day as they do ministry.
[Here’s a little back story on me so you can fully understand]
So if you know me well, you know that i have had a lot of lower back trouble in the last year and half mainly from sleeping on a water bed growing up. i went to the chiropractor a few months before i left on the race and got x-rays done on my lower back/hips. They explained to me that normally ones hips are supposed to be in place on your right & left straight and aligned, but my right hip on the x ray was fully turned in towards the front of my body causing severe pain and even causing my right leg to be shorter than my left. The chiropractor said it could take years of physically therapy/alignment to get my hip back in place permanently.
On the race, my wonderful friend Katie Ballard has every few months taken 1-2 hrs to readjust, align, and stretch my back/legs/hips because at some points the pain had been so horrific. And most times my right leg was significantly shorter then the left.
Well as i am watching this video, i’m laying down in my bed and i have an itch on my left knee. As i reach up to scratch my left knee, my right hip pops into place and all pain is gone and has been completely gone since. & immediately i checked the length of my right & left leg and both were perfectly aligned.
haha, G-d is so good.
I’M HEALED. Praise G-d!
i serve a very real G-d who really does heal people today & heck, i’ve been one of those people a few times. Back in 2009 when i was in Uganda, G-d healed my right foot where i was supposed to get surgery on a snapped ligament. Completely healed, completely restored my foot.
It never ceases to amaze me how awesome and incredibly powerful G-d is and how He wants to pour out His power upon His people. He wants us to walk in freedom and in healing. i don’t fully understand why He doesn’t always heal when we pray, but i believe He has called us as His people to lay hands on the sick and we have the authority to heal, to cast out demons, and to see the dead raised back to life.
