It's strange how time flutters by without mention of the seconds passing. I feel like I have been in a whirlwind of sorts for the last 6 months and not fully able to grasp everything that has or is happening.
I'm on a flight to Rome with a massive change of plans from the previous month of being here. The "plan" when I was Italy in March was to return April 29th for a minimum of 3 months which was even a decrease from the original 6 months I intended. It's funny how things can change so quickly. When you give G-d the steering wheel of your life, it means He's in control and you sit in the passenger seat. My original intention was to serve in the church in Bari, Italy where I previously worked and my 6 months turned into 3 because of the wonderful visa regulations they have in Schengen Agreement. Even with the excitement to serve this church, for some reason I felt uneasy and as if this time was only a transition. It was going to be necessary that I leave the country by the first week of July with my visa expiring and in a way, being stuck over in Europe with really no set plan or peace from G-d of what to do. All this to say, I was confused. I was like, "Alright L-rd, I trust that you're in control, I'm just not sure where to go, what to do, or if I should plan something."
Well, Daddy answered my plea. After 15 months abroad serving the L-rd, I came back to the States to have a month at home with my family. The day after I arrived home, I received an email from The World Race asking if I would consider putting in my application to be a Squad Leader in July. I was shocked and in awe. While I was on The World Race last year I had a desire to be a squad leader & felt G-d moving in that direction, but I had no idea what that was going to look like. I placed that desire at His feet and remember saying, "Well L-rd, if you want me to be a squad leader, there going to have to pursue me." And what happens? Almost a year later, I get asked to go through the application process.
Complete peace and I am beyond thrilled! I went through the application & 3 phone interviews & after a few hours of discussing everything from my relationship with Jesus to my personal life, I was accepted. WOW! Officially accepted to be a squad leader in July! Now this is where it gets crazy. Remember I'm supposed to go back to Italy April 29th and a slight detail I've left out is, it is required to go to training camp which occurs 2 months before the start of the trip – May 14-25th. Well here's a change of pace with a lot to plan.
As of right now, I am going back to Italy to say my goodbye's, pick up a few things I left behind, & go to a special friend's wedding. Then on the 14th, I will take a flight from Rome to Atlanta, Georgia arriving with jet lag at half past 8. I will be there for 11 days, with a small road trip to Nashville to see a few old friends & then back to Phoenix for a month. I will depart on The World Race on June 28th to help lead a squad for 5 months still of which I am uncertain of where to and with whom. I don't think I can fully express the peace I have about everything orchestrating together this last month, but what I can say is I know it's G-d! He is such a good Father and beyond faithful to me, even when I question His ways.
I will be raising money again for this trip, but this time I am only needing $4,000 which includes flights to Georgia for training camp, back to Phoenix, & then my flight to for the launch of the trip. So far I have raised around $1750 because of your generous donations! At this point I am only needing around $2250 to pay off everything and would graciously like to ask for your prayer and support. My first time on The World Race changed my life and allowed me to be apart of doing something for Jesus in 17 different countries around the world. I am asking for you to partner with me once again as I go and help lead a generation to passionately seek and serve His Kingdom come!
