Humility. Need i say more?
I have been incredibly humbled on this trip. I came on The World Race thinking i knew a few things. i mean, i’ve been to a few countries and I’ve done mission work. I’ve even helped lead a missions trip and knowing i don’t know everything, i still thought i knew a lot. i think one of the most humbling situations right off the bat was not being placed in leadership. i think i got so used to just naturally being in leadership and holding leadership positions that i expected it, but to my initial surprise i wasn’t chosen.
I’ve learned a lot about leadership from following other leaders and watching the way they lead. I’ve learned a lot about leading from behind and being a person that supports others in the gifting and abilities G-d has given them.
Before this trip it was very easy for me to be the first to raise my hand or just do what needed to be done, but how does that help anyone else grow & step out of their comfort zones? How does that help anyone else grow if that one person always steps up instead of giving someone else a turn.
Maybe this seems elementary, but what a learning lesson for me. And maybe for some of you, it might be very natural to take the lead and its almost the easy thing to do, but next time i encourage you to empower those around you. Call forth the greatness in others so that they may grow and be used fully for G-d’s glory.
“The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ…”
[1 Corinthians 12:12]
i encourage you to read 1 Corinthians 12:12-30 and how it talks about the body of Christ, the church. You and i make up the body and just like in a normal body, nothing can be accomplished with just one or even two parts. It takes the entire body with its many parts to move, breath, and do what needs to be done.
The very thing satan wants to do in the church and in the body is to build strife, anger, discord, and disunity because he knows if we actually work together like we are created to work, we’ll usher heaven to earth and see uncountable numbers reached for G-d’s Kingdom and their eternity (see the book of Acts).
If you have an issue with a brother or sister in Christ it is time to get over your pride and selfishness and talk. This could either mean to ask for forgiveness or to work out some differences that might have come to the surface in the past.
One of the greatest things we can do is forgive.
“For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
[Matthew 6:14]
“If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witness…”
[Matthew 18:15-16]
“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the alter and then remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift at the alter. First go and be reconciled to your brother, then come and offer your gift.”
[Matthew 5:23-24]
I honestly could go on and on with what G-d has been teaching me and situations He daily takes me through but let me say one more that i believe is one of the most important.
“The Kingdom of G-d is near! Repent and believe the good news!”
[Mark 1:15]
He is coming back for a PURE & Spotless Bride and as the Bride we MUST come before Jesus, Seek HIM, & follow in His footsteps. “Be holy as I am holy!” [1 Peter 1:16]
There are millions of people around the world who have yet to hear of Jesus & experience His love.
Beloved, we MUST pray for G-d to draw the hearts of the people of the nations & to go declare who He is in all the earth (Mark 16:15) because the reality is there is a heaven & a hell. Those who “confess with their mouth Jesus as L-rd and believe in their heart that G-d raised Him from the dead will be saved” [Romans 10:9] but if this is not being done, the “wages of sin is death” [Romans 3:23] and complete seperation from G-d.
i am done seeing people go to hell. i know His desire is “that no one would perish, but all would come to repentence” [1 peter 3:9]
So wherever you are called to go, whether the downtown streets of your city or across the world, what is stopping you? We can’t wait any longer & neither can they.
