I have some exciting news but first a little bit about my everyday life here in Georgia:
Here at the Center for Global Action, CGA, my days are split into a few different categories. The first one is an apprenticeship in the Adventures in Missions office. Currently I work in the office four days a week as a World Race logistics apprentice. I get to help my precious Squad Experience Coordinator, Jenna Malinen, with the finances and logistics of two squads currently on the field.
The second part of this program is in the worship track. We are reading about, discussing, and diving deeper into what it means to be a worshiper. We have been focusing a lot on our identities as believers. Living in the tension of kingdom living being here but not yet, we are seeking to invite others into the presence of The Lord. We also held a 24 hour prayer and worship night last Friday where I had the chance to help lead worship for the first two hours. It was an amazing experience getting to worship God through song with a room full of people who are seeking the face of God on a daily basis.
(This is from the first hour of the 24 hour burn)
The last part of my program is the discipleship aspect. I am lucky enough to be a part of a discipleship group with a wonderful mom who works with AIM, my roommate, and a squad mate. We meet weekly and hash out what God is doing in our lives. We also attend these classes on Wednesday mornings seeking out our calling and learning more about the Living Word.
These first few weeks have been blowing me away. God is teaching me so much about myself and continuing to take me into a deeper relationship with himself.
But now I get to update you on what's next for me:
I am going to GUATEMALA!
At the end of March the worship track will be taking a week long trip down to Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, hike some mountains, praise and dance before the Lord and intercede for the country. This trip originally was supposed to be at the beginning of this month but due to weather, and the Lord's bigger plans, the trip got postponed and now it won't be a team of 7 but a team of 20! I am so very excited about what God is doing here.
I am lucky enough to go back on the mission field for about a week and be apart of the team of worshipers who are helping establish the new AIM base down there. I've never been to Central America, aside from Mexico mission trips in high school, so I am super excited to experience a new culture and country.
The vision that has been cast for this trip is one of brothers and sisters from all around worshipping God on the side of a mountain as we establish the new home for Adventures Guatemala base. I am so excited and honored to be a part of this move and I can't wait to thank the Lord for his movement in Guatemala.
If you are interested in hearing more feel free to email me, call me, or Skype me and I would love to share on a deeper level what has been happening. I also would ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with me financially. For the CGA program alone I need to raise support of at least $600 a month and right now I've just met my deadline for the time I've been here. In order to go to Guatemala I need another $700 for the cost of the trip. Please pray about becoming a monthly supporter or even giving a one time donation. Thank you all for your support so far, it has been an incredible blessing.
Also please keep our team in your prayers as we travel down to Central America and around Guatemala. Pray that the Lord would show up in crazy ways and that we would follow his lead in what he has planned for this place.
In order to go on this trip I need to raise about $700 dollars to fund our journey. I also need to be funded for the current CGA period. Right now I still need at least $900 for the next two months. So by the end of March I need to have $1600 in my support account. Please pray about supporting my CGA and this trip to Guatemala and click the support me tab on the side of this blog and follow instructions.
Blessings,
Dri
