Future Racers // before you leave:

So you’re about to leave for the World Race and a million things are running through your mind. Your eyes can’t seem to focus on anything for too long. The countdown has almost depleted. 60 days turned into 14 faster than you can remember but at the same time it feels like the clock is ticking away with an aching slowness that leaves you struggling to think straight.
In a few short weeks you are LEAVING FOR THE NATIONS.
You think to yourself that finally, that longing that has been itching away at you causing you unrest will be scratched as you head off to meet your squadmates for departure.
I remember that feeling. I remember the fear, anticipation, and excitement that haunted me every moment of every day leading up to launch. I remember chatting away on Skype to my new teammates for hours talking about packing and traveling and sometimes even family drama that had come up so close to me leaving. But what I forgot to do and needed to do was simply,
“BE STILL.”
This year is going to change your life. The children you hold, the stories you share, and the people
you serve will stick with you forever. But the Lord wants to be your focus.

He wants you to place yourself at his feet in patient expectation of him to show up in huge ways this year. He longs to answer crazy prayers that you never thought would be answered. He desires to perform miraculous signs and wonders by your faithful hands. But most of all
He wants ALL of you.
He is whispering to your heart asking you to seek him first in the midst of all your emotions. Start out with your focus on him.
Maybe take some time to meditate on Psalm 46.
Especially verse 10,
“Beloved, be still, and
know that I am God.
I will be exalted among
the nations, I will be
exalted in the earth!”
