Being a teacher was always one of my dream jobs as a kid but as I grew up I felt like that was definitely NOT my calling. Little did I know, God had other plans.

He surprises me often but I never expected I would be teaching English to Cambodia children.

Although it can be very challenging and the language barrier makes it hard at times I found to love it so much. My day starts with a 20 minute tuk-tuk ride and I’ve found that to be one of my favorite times of the day. I am able to just sit and be in the presence of my team and of the Lord and reflect on what I wish my day to look like.

Then starting at 7:30 and going until 10:30 is the first class of the day! A fellow squad-mate and I teach together and we have around 20 kids ranging 10-14 our first block. This class is 3 hours long with some breaks in between and we are learning a lot of different vocabulary words and grammar.

This is actually pretty hysterical because anyone who knows me my spelling is awful so I think God has got one HECK of sense of humor making this my ministry. And yes Ryan has to help me spell most of the time and fix my mistakes but these kids are so loving, forgiving, and eager to learn.

Continuing on with my day; our teams then have a 3ish hour break for lunch, naps, and just renewing our minds and bodies for the second half of the day.-which is my favorite part of the day.

Our second half of the day is another class 2-5 that has curriculum very similar to the first class. The only difference is that our afternoon class is WILD, but they are my favorite.

yeah yeah yeah I know, you’re not supposed to have favorites-but I definitely do!

Most of the pictures I have posted on Facebook and Instagram have been of these little rascals! I have one boy, Dara and a pair of twins and they are the best! These guys have helped me feel very welcomed and helped me with homesickness.

All I’m saying is that it is going to be VERY hard to leave those guys and I am dreading that day that it becomes reality.

But, with all that said-ministry is definitely a lot of work, but it is so rewarding and I love every second of it! Plus there is a beautiful rice field less than 5 minutes away that is nice to go visit in hours off and a coffee stand with 30c coffee across the street!

I just want to thank every person who said a prayer or gave a dollar amount because these kids are getting love, education, and jesus because of all my supporters! And if you want to know more about New Hope School in Battambang, Cambodia you can follow their Facebook page! Currently they are only able to pay their teachers $15 a month in salary and have to fund for all their supplies so if you are interested in personally investing in the school you can do that on their go-fund-me which should be accessible on their Facebook page as well.

I also still need $4,900 by December to continue on the race and would LOVE if you were apart of that goal as well!

Love you all, thank you for reading and your support!
