Today I was listening to this song called Little Hell by City and Colour. This song is one that I have heard many times, but for some reason one of the lines hit me really hard today.

“Will we get out of this little hell?”

I think a big reason why this got to me was because of the Election. This blog will not be about politics or about my personal beliefs but I did want to briefly mention it.

From what I can see and read, people are literally going crazy. Riots are breaking out, protests have been started, vandalism, violence, racism, and more. `

It is so sad to see a country like America become so hateful towards each other. Yes, some of us feel like our voices haven’t been heard, or that the results weren’t fair. BUT we were given Trump for a reason, God has a plan for it. We may not see it now, but we might in the future.

Our country is in a little hell right now. The really sad part is that America still has it better than so many other places! Our little hell is a big deal for us right now. We are asking that same question, “Will we get out of this little hell?”-or will it become worse from here? The saddest part about all of this though, is that we are forgetting about how well off we are, as America.  There are bigger issues in our world. Things that we can’t even image or put into words.

My heart breaks for places like the ones I am going to next year. Some of the people have no rights, or few. They are in rubbish and struggling to survive. They are in something much bigger than the little hell America feels like they are facing now. They are in a lifestyle of pain and suffering. Some of them don’t have hope. But my team and I are taking on that challenge and going out to give hope.

My prayer for our country is that we would come together and unite as one. I pray that we wont lose hope in our leaders or each other. My prayer for other countries is that they would keep hope, and welcome my team and I with open arms. I am so excited to go on this adventure, and I pray that God uses me in crazy ways!
