8 days until departure!

Time flew so fast! It’s about to begin!! Going to Africa has felt more like a dream than a reality, but every minute it gets more and more real!

I have an AMAZING team of 12.

We all meet at training camp on the 24th for 4 days of training before we depart on the 28th for Africa. After 3 flights, and 3 days of travel, we will arrive in Livingstone, Zambia on the 31st!

In the month of February, we will be serving in Livingstone, Zambia.

In the month of March, we will be serving in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

In the month of April, we will be serving in Johannesburg, South Africa.

We return April 29th.

Please pray for energy and patience for my team on the first few travel days, as we will be traveling for 50+ hours before arriving in Livingstone Zambia. Pray for our trust in God as we navigate around Culture Shock and learn to work together as a team. Pray for nerves and last minute packing, and the dreaded goodbyes that accompany leaving home.

Here is my attempt at some FAQS:

Where will you be staying?

In local houses provided by our ministry contacts. We were told to bring sleeping pads so we will probably be on the floor if beds are not available.

What will you be eating?

Anything that we can find of local markets. I actually have no idea. Our team is in charge of buying and preparing our own food… and nobody knows how to cook… it’ll be great!

What languages are spoken there?

In Zambia, Tonga and English are the most common.

In Zimbabwe, Shona, Ndebele, and English are the most common.

In South Africa, Zulu, English, and Afrikaans are most common.

Are you nervous?

0%.

What are you most looking forward to?

The ability to serve God exclusively on a daily basis, and the opportunity to step out of the American Culture and see God from a new perspective.

God is going to use my team for His glory. That makes me so excited. I want to come home as a different person who is way closer to God. It is such an amazing opportunity to serve God!
