In less than a month, I will be returning to the US, having spent 11 months on the World Race. It has been an incredible year, full of amazing experiences – I’ve seen and learned so much.
I also have heard from World Race alumni, that when I get back, lots of people will have lots of questions. And I can’t say that I would expect any different. When my friend, Sara, returned from her Race, I had a million questions.
But ask yourself this: What have you seen/learned in the last 11 months? What was your favorite memory? – Difficult to answer? Now try traveling to more than a dozen countries on four different continents. Questions like “what was your favorite country?” and “what did you learn?” are far too broad; they’re overwhelming.
And then if you consider the number of people that will want to know about the trip, can you imagine how exhausting it could become? (On top of the fact that I have returned from spending 11 months in varying levels of discomfort, in cultures very different from my own.)
So, here is my attempt to mitigate some of that inundation. Submit your questions and I will respond to them in a blog for everyone to read. That way I can answer the question one time for all of you. I realize that not everyone will see the blog, but I figure that the four of you who do follow me will be in the know, and that would be four fewer people asking me a zillion questions when I land.
Now, don’t misunderstand me – I am not telling you not to ask me any questions when I arrive Stateside. I am returning from one of the most incredible years of my life, and I would love to tell you about it. What I’m asking is that you ask specific questions and that you space them out, don’t ask them rapid-fire.
So: send me your questions. Any question is fair game. Send as many as you would like. What do you want to know about my experience on the World Race? You can comment them on this blog, submit them via the “contact” link on the left of the page, or email them to me.
I’ll compile the questions, answer them, and post a response blog in the next couple of weeks.
