Hi friends! Recently during my quiet time, I’ve been reading through the gospel of Luke. A few days ago, I came across this passage. I’ve heard it many times before, but this time it really stuck out to me.

“As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, ‘Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.’
But the Lord said to her, ‘My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.‘” – Luke 10:38-42

So many times, I find myself having the attitude of Martha. I often tell myself that I need to get busy fundraising, that I need to get busy buying supplies for my trip, that I need to put in more hours at work..etc.

Every time I start listening to those things I tell myself, I hear the gentle voice of my Savior saying,

“Drew, come to me.

Be at peace with me.

Do not worry, just sit at my feet.”

Time and again, the Bible commands us not to worry. Here, Christ says that there is only one thing to worry about: sitting at His feet and listening to Him.

“Be still and know that I am God.” -Psalm 46:10.

I pray that by God’s grace, the only thing I will worry about will be being still and trusting God. When I do this, it will change my World Race and it will change my life!
