We have now been in Rukungiri for over a week and it seems like we just got here yesterday.  We have been doing a lot of door to door ministry and going to some of the local schools to speak or give some sort of presentation.  This month as we are going door to door they have had the whole team stay together, which has worked out well.  The people love it when all seven of us come to their house or store to pray from them and give them a word of encouragement.  Many people say they have never had any white people in their house, much less seven at one time.  It has all been a blessing to have the Pastors of All Saints Church going with us, and having time to talk with them about their lives and how Christ in working here in Uganda.  Many of the people here have gone through things in their lives I can’t even imagine and yet they still keep a solid faith in Christ.

One night last week we had the opportunity to go to the Bishop’s house for dinner.  At first we were all a little nervous as to what this was going to look like, especially since we were supposed to bring the main course.  Which we tried fixing spaghetti with what is available here in Africa, and they loved it.  It was nice to get the opportunity to meet many of the people here in town that are connected with the Churches we are working with.  I even had the chance to sit to talk one on one with Pastor Enoch who is our contact this month and listen to his story.  How he grew up in a little dirt floor hut having to walk 59 km to school every three months with a mattress on his back since they could not afford transportation.

It seems like there are kids everywhere in this town.  Every time I turn around there are kids yelling at me or wanting to come up and shake my hand.  We are staying next door to a couple schools and the other day as I was running up the hill after a morning run, to the house we are staying in I ran past a group of about 20 kids on their way to school.  Before I knew it I turned around and they were all running behind me trying to catch up. And for a second I felt like Rocky running through the streets of Philadelphia, with all the kids chasing after him.

I feel Christ has been working in all of us especially myself, helping to make us bolder and giving us the strength to reach out to those in need and find ways to talk with them and encourage them in their faith and life.   As always thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
