We finished up our ministry this past weekend in Cambodia. I had the opportunity to go to Siem Reap, see Angkor Wat and meet with the people at Adventures in Missions who I do all the squad’s logistics through since we were in the same country at the same time. It was great to meet face to face with them and was an even better end to a rough week.
I am now in Gua Musang, Malaysia. Our ministry for the month is teaching English and character building at a local resource center. This month is going to look completely different than any other month so far since the community we are living in is predominantly Muslim and we are not allowed to openly speak of the Gospel or Christ. It feels really strange since I am not one to walk up to a complete stranger and start talking about Christ but being here and being told I can’t makes me want to do it more. Our contacts this month are awesome and it is amazing to see their faith and the ways they have been loving on the people here. Like in Thailand where we just worked in the tapioca fields all day, it really makes me think of the quote by St. Francis of Assisi “preach the Gospel always and when necessary use words”.
As always thanks for your thoughts and prayers.
Drew
