I’m in love!! Don’t worry, not that kind of love. I fell in love with Cambodia, well and a 12 year old boy.
The beauty that makes up Cambodia covers the land. I don’t know what it is, it’s one of those unexplainable things. Sometimes a place grabs a person by the heart, my heart has been grabbed by Cambodia.
“If oceans were filled with ink, and the sky were a blank page, still I would run out of space, to tell of this love.”
I’ve begun to love people the way that God loves us. Never in my life have I felt so much love for a person as I do now. Yes, I love people back at home but this is a completely overwhelming feeling that has filled me with so much joy. I found it in a 12 year old boy named Caleb. It’s weird when you go to ministry to change the hearts of children and they end up changing yours.
I know in my heart that I will be returning to Cambodia. I honestly cannot imagine never returning to the Shelter of Love. Shelter of Love is a center for kids in Cambodia to live and go to school, a lot of the time the shelter helps get the kids through college after high school. The kids are welcomed here if their parents are no longer alive, they were abandoned, or their parent/parents weren’t seen fit to raise their child. About 60 kids are currently living at the center of all ages. The people that run the center are truly godly people, they give so much love to these kids. An incredible lady named Sue built the shelter up from the ground starting in 2002 and someday I hope to meet her. I have fallen so in love with what is happening here in Kampong Thom. These kids are so loved by the Lord and they are so loved by my team and I.
God put something in Caleb to tell me I need to come back to Cambodia. This boy is something special and Cambodia is something special. God has showed me how much He loves the people of Cambodia and how much He wants me to love them. Caleb has changed the path my life will follow. After these short 9 months, I know I will be returning to Cambodia, I don’t know when or for how long but I know I will be back and I am so excited!!
I HAVE BEEN CALLED TO SERVE IN CAMBODIA. IT’S THE BEST FEELING EVER! This is the beginning of my new life. A life I could never have dreamed of. Cambodia is only month 1!! Only God knows whats awaits in Thailand. We are heading there Friday so keep my team and I in your prayers. Thanks for all the support so far, I am still working my way to being fully funded! Only $2,000 and I’m perfect. Fundraising is kind of tricky from the other side of the planet so I truly appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks again, next update will be coming from Thailand!!
