We’re coming back to America earlier than expected! Unless you can help prevent that…
When we look at our World Race support account we often think, Wow! Can you believe how much God has provided?! And it’s so true, He has. Through all of you who are reading this, God has provided us with over $23 THOUSAND to fund this trip. That’s crazy! But sometimes when we look at our support account we get side tracked by what has already been done and forget what still needs to be done.
The unfortunate truth is that our trip is still not fully funded. As of right now, we still lack $4,090. AIM has been gracious enough to be patient and work along side us, however the reality of the situation is this: Unless we raise $2,000 by the end of June, we will be coming home early from the World Race.
Our natural tendency is to apologize for asking for money again. We kind of hate it. We feel bad because we know you all have lives of your own and important things to put your money towards. But here’s the thing…we’ve kind of gotten over that a little bit because at this point we just can’t go home. We absolutely can’t. God has moved so much, we’ve experienced so much, we’ve learned and changed so much, and we’ve loved so much. So much has happened but it’s not enough. It’s just enough to know that if we went home now, especially because of finances, it would be a tragedy.
Here’s something true that’s humbling to admit: Us being here really isn’t that important. We could be at home on the couch and God would still be moving. He has chosen to use us as instruments to get the word out about the injustices, poverty, and hurts that are killing our world. Our calling in this season of our lives is just to be here and report back what we see. We believe that through our experiences, other people are going to rise up and take action for Christ.
The overwhelming theme we’ve come across so far on the World Race is that we set out to change the world, but instead the world is changing us – for the better. We cannot imagine cutting this experience short and missing out on more change in our lives. Please take this opportunity to make a difference in our lives and in the lives of the people we come in contact with. You are what makes this possible. You are just as important to the people we meet as we are. And without you, we’re coming home early.
