Darwin is approximately 12,923.278056 miles from Edmond, OK according to Google Maps.  What are the chances of meeting someone in Darwin that knows someone I know back home?  Well it turns out that most of the staff from the COC know our pastor’s wife back home at the Edmond Campus of Lifechurch.tv.  So it is a small world after all.

It seems that we often forget that in the midst of living in such a small world God is so big.  He’s great and mighty!  I like how The Message puts Psalm 145:3, “God is magnificent; he can never be praised enough.  There are no boundaries to his greatness.”  That’s amazing isn’t it? No boundaries or limits.  You know some plants and animals can only grow as big as their environment allows.  For example, animals that live in aquariums at the zoo grow proportional to the size of what they are contained in.  A plant’s growth can also be restricted to the size of pot where it grows.

When I was trying to process all of this earlier today, I couldn’
t help but think of how Christians are the same way.  When we have a closed mind and try to put God in a little box it restricts us from growing.  We can only repeat the same experiences, emotions, and frustrations that we’ve always had.  So my challenge for us is to think about what we need to change to see more of God’s greatness and power.  The first thing to do is take God out of the little box and celebrate the truth that he is bigger than we can ever understand.
