After a few weeks in Cape Town, I feel such promise. A city in a country that has had its share of problems. I think God had one idea for us on our mission here, freedom. My team spent its time at Simon’s Town School, and was blessed with doors opened to us by the Principal to share the gospel that we know and love. Relationships were built with so many kids. We played with them. We goofed off with them. We surfed with a couple. We shared with as many of them as we could. Our last week consisted of many one-on-ones with them, and God is moving. We sat down with teens last Friday and listened to many of their stories. The struggles they’ve experienced. The brokenness they’ve been raised in. The tougher it was for them to talk about their past, the more confident you would hear them proclaim where they were now by the power of Christ. The freedom they found in their stories of redemption was so powerful.
Christ is moving amidst the struggles of the people of Cape Town, and though it is known as the Cape of Storms, I know one who calms all storms. He is comforting. He is calming. He is bringing freedom.
Thank you Lord for the opportunity to share with Cape Town and South Africa.
Matthew 8:26 “Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.”
