They told us we were going to Bulgaria the day before we left (last minute much?). They also told us what we are going to be doing. We found out our ministry was going to be 100% unsung heroes. This means that as I explained earlier we are going places as the Lord leads and looking to partner with people who are doing His work and have little resources. It also means that although the other teams already had their contacts planned out of who they were staying with, we had no plans.

Our guys started researching that night trying to find a hostel that was open in Sofia. Apparently, the Deaflympics were going on, which meant that all the hostels were booked. After 5 hrs of research they finally found a hostel.

We arrived in Sofia, Bulgaria on a bus 2 days later. We got off the bus with our whole squad, which is a site to see! ha! We then dispersed into our teams and went our separate ways. We have teams all over Bulgaria and 3 teams actually went to Serbia. We get all our gear and start walking toward the hostel. We get there and we can't get in. The door was locked. So we asked this girl-she was deaf but told us to follow her.
She led us to another hostel that was a couple roads down and up 5 flights of stairs. All this with our packs on.

Well we had already paid a deposit on our other hostel so we went back to figure this out. A man told us that it has been closed for a year. Of course we immediately think, "Oh snap! That was a bogus site and we got scammed." Drew called the number from their website and a lady answered. Told us it was closed for a year, she didn't know the website was still up, and told us to go back to the hostel we just came from.

I looked the availability up before we got there and it said there were none available. Drew and a couple others went up to talk to the host and she said 7 were leaving that day- so miraculously we could stay there! The lady Drew had just talked to, spoke with the host of that hostel and she transferred the money so we didn't lose any!

We knew this was the Lord! He is so good and is totally our provider! We were reminded of how dependent we are on the Lord at all times and are thankful to be in a position where He has to show up. These times are the ones that stretch us and make us grow near to Him! He is enough! Don't look to the right or to the left, keep your eyes on Jesus. Come to Him-He is all we need! Praise Him!
