I have grown up in the church even though my mom was the main supportive one to keep my brother and me going to Sunday school. So yes I do remember all the stories like Jonah and the Whale, Daniel and the lions den, two loaves and 5 fish, and the list can go on.  It is surprising to realize that there is more to our Heavenly Father. He is not in this little box that some people, including myself, have kept him in.

Yes those Sunday school stories are still true. I have seen food multiply, for example, and the first time that I saw it was when we went to the dump.  The ones who were serving looked at the food and thought there might not be enough, but no worries because it was all in God’s hand. There was enough food for the people in the dump and enough to share it with some families in Los Pinos.

But what I am truly trying to get at is that our Heavenly father is bigger than those moments. He speaks to us in so many ways. It can be through a song, a friend or even another blog. He has the ability to stretch us and show us so many things. For example at the dump there was a man named Ramon that knows and believes in God.  Ramon tries to memorize Bible verses when he can.  Ramon even tries to spread the gospel to the people in the dump.  I would not have believed that until I was there listening to this man speaking.

Our Heavenly Father has given us the ability to connect with him in so many levels. I have prayed for him one time to reveal these angels that someone told me I have.  My heavenly father revealed one to me when I was praying for this lady in Los Pinos one day. While my eyes where closed and swinging my arms back and forth, I saw angel wings underneath my hands.  I truly freaked out at first because I had no idea what just happened and thought I was crazy. But now I know I am not crazy and that my father was answering a prayer for me.

Also our father may not answer all prayers because he has a reason why. He has something better planned for us that we are unable to understand what it might be until we go through the motions.  Our Father is so big that we just need to learn to lean on him more and really get to know him more. To look beyond the Sunday school stories we have grown up with. Our flesh might not understand things but it is alright because we should still learn about our Father.
