Here in Nicaragua, the property we are living on is so amazing. There are trees that have mangos, coconuts, avocados, plantains and guava. No more shopping at the market for these lovely treats when they are right at your fingertips. Some of the kids on the property climb the trees to get these yummy treats for us. The ministry here is to pour love on the kids that live on the property, help with the preschoolers, and help maintain the property. Which means machetes, hoes, shovels and rakes are involved.  However, when we first arrived we had no idea what out contact wanted us to do.

Both teams Raised To Life and Kina came together to make up a schedule. We decided to work on the property on Mondays and Wednesdays. Tuesdays and Thursdays some people work at the preschool. Fridays we pray for people in the park or if someone feels like there is a certain person God wants them to pray for in the park. Saturday is our off day and we head to another town to get the internet and keep loved ones in touch. Sundays we gather kids from the neighborhood for Sunday school and to play with them.

Most of the kids that live on property are girls that have been physically abused by their own family members. This is the place where they can be safe and learn about the love of the Lord. Some of the kids are only like 10 and it’s so sad what they have been through.  The sad thing is that two girls already left the property since we have been here. There is no reason why they leave or any explanations given. Someone said that once they leave they never usually return to the property. It is so sad and I just keep praying for the two girls that left, and that there is protection over them.  So right now, there are only two kids living on the property, and we all pour love to both kids as much as we can.

I love the property because I feel like a kid. I actually climb one of the trees for my quiet time with my Daddy. I look around for avocados that have fallen and look good to eat. There are no more mangos because the season is over and Luke and Eddie basically cleared all the trees. There is a little 3 year old girl named Maria Elena that is so sweet and defiantly keeps you young with her young personality and sassiness.  Emi, a 10 year old that lives here, showed me how to properly hand wash my clothes one day. It was so cool and fun because we got to talk with the little Spanish I know.

I can’t believe that I have like 5 more days here on the property. I don’t want to go because I feel like a kid all over again. I don’t want to grow up. I want to be a kid forever, thanks to Emi and Maria Elena.
