NOVEMBER 2015:

So, I haven’t updated my “About Me” page in a couple years…actually, since I first got accepted to The World Race haha so I think it’s about time I did that.

I recently returned from a year long journey across 11 countries over 11 months which totally wrecked me.  All the things I heard about going on in the world, the poverty, the abandoned, the people wandering without worth and the billions of people that have never heard about Jesus…they became real.  These things were no longer scary statistics thrown out to me as i sat in my comfortable American chair, freely worshiping the father in my gigantic America church.  They were represented by real people, with real names and real struggles…people right in front of me, ready to hear truth and begin a journey with the savior of the world.  Spending one single month in each place taught me the importance of investing your life to the advancement of the gospel…there was always so much I knew I wanted God to do through me, but never enough time to do it!  And so, without any fancy reason other than the fact that I’ve been called by the one true God to take the gospel to the unreached, i am moving to India this coming January.  Not to save a country, but to love on as many people I can and introduce them to a love story that was created for them through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.  I will be there for as long as God keeps me there, but my commitment is at least 2 years (2016 and 2017).  I will learn the language (telegu) and live with the locals; I will be flexible and simply act as an extension of the love Christ has for his children…the love that I was fortunate to hear as a child and the love I have been shown by my family, friends and supporters back home.

This is me.

Not glamorous.

Not married.

No kids of my own.

Not the American definition of “successful” by any means

but a 23 year old girl in love with Jesus, ready to change the world one prayer, one disciple, one conversation at a time.

I can’t do it alone…so, if you feel called to love on India too (even if you feel led to do so while staying in America)  I would love for you to join my support team or prayer team!  email me at [email protected] for more info (:

AUGUST 2013:

Heyyyy Heyyyy friends! please subscribe to Blog (on the left) to get updated about my trip as I get closer to my Launch date in July!

Intro:

Welcome to my “About Me” section! My name is Andrea although I also go by my nickname Drea.  I am a senior at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC (GO PACK) and am graduating with a degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Health this upcoming May. Coming into College, I knew I wanted to get involved with a ministry so I started going to CRU (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ)…since first attending their weekly meeting I knew God was doing HUGE things at NC State through this ministry and wanted to be a part of it.  So I began to serve on the publicity committee, became a bible study leader to an incredible group of girls with the greatest co-bible study leader ever and am now helping out on staff as a volunteer student intern. I have been so blessed to be able to have the community I have here at NCSU and am so thankful that God has put the people in my life that he has…they have encouraged me to be a better person and to take leaps of faith into unknown territories which is one part of what has led me here.

A few fun facts about myself:

I was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania (Home of actor Jimmy Stewart…so cool!)

Got baptized when I was 8 but truly gave my life to Christ on a missions trip to Ecuador in 10th grade

I am a Resident Adviser at NC State University

I worked for Fuge Camps the last two summers (greatest two summers of my life) in Tigerville, SC and Panama City Beach, FL

My favorite TV show of all time is LOST

My favorite Movie is The Dark Knight

I love everything Batman related

My favorite book changes a lot but right now it is “Revolution in World Mission” by K.P Yohannon…although Dr. Seuss books are high on the list as well!

How you can be praying for me:

pray that I would take advantage of the ministry I am placed in today as a senior at NC State

pray that I will not grow frustrated with the fundraising process that comes alongside serving on a year long mission trip and that I give everything over to God because He>i

pray that there would be a revival among the students at NC State

pray for my squad mates as they also prepare to be sent and begin the fundraising and support raising process
