1. I was baptized when I was 8 and definitely understood who Christ was and the sacrifice he made for me then but truly gave my life to Christ and began to allow him to mold every aspect of myself on a FUGE camps missions trip to Ecuador in the 10th grade.
2. On October 4th of 2012 I had this crazy dream/vision thing that I still don’t know how to explain that changed the course of my studies in college. I saw myself in the working with water resources in third world countries over a panorama kind of setting, at the end I become so unbelievably parched and my throat felt so so dry. I then felt the lord say “this is what its like to be truly thirsty”. The next day, I talked to my advisor about transferring from biology to environmental sciences (water resources) with a minor in human health and ever since I have known that Gods view for me includes water resources and bringing physical water to those around the world after introducing them to the everlasting living water that only Jesus Christ can provide.
3. I am originally from Indiana, PA but moved south when I was 1ish and then moved around a bunch more growing up. Because I moved around so much, and never really felt like I had a “home” down south, I view Indiana, PA as “home” since I spent all my holidays there growing up and it seemed to always be a “consistent refuge”. I try to get up there every chance I get…I LOVE Pennsylvania and think its the most beautiful state in the US!
4. I have worked for FUGE camps for the last 2 summers at North Greenville University in South Carolina and Shalimar Beach Resort in Panama City Beach, FL. Literally, the greatest jobs ever! I have made such close friendships with the people I have worked with at FUGE and would not trade those summers for anything.
5. I am pretty obsessed with the TV shows LOST and SURVIVOR. Ive seen LOST (all seasons) 7 times over and have participated in every fan based quiz/competition/questionnaire…kinda pathetic, I know haha. But lets be real, LOST is incredible..best TV show ever created by far. As for SURVIVOR, I have been a fan of the show since the beginning and thoroughly enjoy the social interactions and physical challenges on the island over the 39 days. Ive seen every episode of every season at least once and my favorite season is season 10 closely followed by season 13.
6. I think everyone should love 50s music as much as I do and burst into random dance at least once a day. Its good for the soul!
7. My great great Uncle was Dr. J Calvitt Clark. He was the founder of ChildFund International (originally China’s Children Fund -CCF) which was a non-governmental emergency relief organization created to help children displaced by the second Sino-Japanese War in China and now cares for impoverished orphans in Asia and all over the world. I would have loved to meet him when he was alive, but his love for the nations has definitely been passed on genetically to me and I hope to continue the legacy he created back in the 30s throughout my lifetime.
8. I love football! From NC State football to Steelers football, I love it all and if invited to any football game I will always take you up on the offer!
9. If I could go to one place in the world right now, it would be Vicotoria Falls, Zimbabwe. I have always wanted to go there and visit those beautiful falls. I google map them almost every day haha
10. I am so unbelievably excited to have the opportunity to go on The World Race, I think that the Lord has incredible plans for our team and all of our supporters. I hope to be moldable clay that he can use to further his kingdom and hope that you will join me in the long journey ahead 🙂
