Hello friends! This is a peak into what The World Race is. I hope you gain a better understanding as to what I will be doing with 11 months of my life. First, watch this video. Its life changing, trust me.
“The World Race is a stretching journey into 11 countries in 11 months to serve “the least of these” while amongst real and raw community. This unique mission trip is a challenging adventure for young adults to abandon worldly possessions and a traditional lifestyle in exchange for an understanding that it’s not about you; it’s about the Kingdom”
First of all, The World Race is a program through the organization Adventures in Missions, also known as Adventures. Adventures is an established missions organization that has been around since 1989 sending people all over the world. This is why all financial support should be made to Adventures in Missions.
I want to point out that this is NOT a luxury vacation or a break from “Real Life.” The communities we live in will be nothing short of the brokenness of this world. There will be real suffering, pain, hunger, fear, and need for our Savior’s love. We will be living like the natives live. That might mean not bathing for a few days and when we do, having freezing water. It means not having wifi to mindlessly pass the time. And it definitely means eating food I’m not used to (and gosh am I a picky eater, please pray for that). So why go? To serve, sacrifice, grow, and like the video said, “it is the most challenging and rewarding thing that you will ever do.”
There is SUCH a need for your prayers in regards to this trip. 11 months is a long time. Yes, I am so incredibly excited. But I also have so many fears. This is the biggest leap of faith I have ever taken. There will be many uncomfortable moments that will stretch me to my limits and push me to grow more than ever before. I will NEED your prayers. “So where is my money going?” If you decide to support me financially through Adventures in Missions, your money will be put to use. Promise! It will cover all costs once the trip begins. The basics include food, lodging, and air, land, and sea travel. But also administrative, setup, coaching, debrief, and training costs prior to and at the start of the Race.
