We are less than 24 hours away from leaving and beginning this 11-month journey. This is my last blog state side and I still cannot believe we have already made it to this point. I cannot describe the emotions I have felt over the last few days. Trying to imagine all of that we will experience is impossible. I am so excited to serve the nations alongside my team.

What I have learned during my time at launch is that you have to be willing to press in to the hard areas and have a yes in your heart. We will be challenged and stretched throughout this trip as individuals and as a team, but clinging to Jesus and knowing that He is the reason for the yes in our hearts is critical to our effectiveness in the field. Not yes for the sake of OUR reputation or for the sake of OUR pride, but yes for the sake of CHRIST.

John 8:12 says, “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”

He is the light inside of us, He is the yes in our hearts. He is the very reason we are where we are today and this is what puts the yes in our hearts.

Like Hillsong United’s song says, “If the wind goes where you send it, so will I.” That is such a beautiful reminder of how we should be a followers of Christ, willing to go wherever he calls us and saying yes the author and perfecter of our faith.
