Month two in Romania was incredible and having the opportunity to live in community with the whole squad was a blessing. We were located in a city called Alba ulia, Romania. It is full of history and surrounded by beautiful mountains.
This was a powerful experience, but it was a different experience as well. A LOT more goes in to living with 44 other people than most would expect. It also gives you the opportunity to learn more about yourself.
We were able to do daily worship and prayer and have multiple teachings throughout the week. I quickly learned that month two, being all squad month, was an opportunity for us to grow and learn as a squad and as individuals. I was able to grow in intimacy with the Lord and so did the majority of our squad.
Our team’s ministry consisted of teaching english at a local church and volunteering at an after-school program for kids ages 6-14. We met some incredible people and our ministry host and the church members took great care of us. It is safe to say we were fed by someone from the church at least twice a week.
Overall, Romania was amazing. The people in general are very accepting and loving. Spiritual oppression seems to be the theme here in eastern Europe, but we were able to see the Kingdom advance during our time in Romania.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” -John 1:5
Remembering this reminds us that His love cannot be undone. I’m excited to see the impact of the future teams who will have the privilege of serving here.
