Month 3 – Togo

We are settled in Togo’s capital city Lomé.

We are the first World Race Squad to go to Togo and that has been such a blessing! Our Squad is working together with people from a few different organizations to reach diverse groups and use our time to make a difference in Togo.

No surprise that WiFi in Africa is limited – it is so hard to find ANY WiFi… and when we find availability, the signal is weak. I am happy to be able to get post this blog.

Our team Talitha Koum (6 of us) is paired this month with team C3 (7 on this team). We are staying at a seminary campus in rooms that are similar to dorm rooms.

Our two teams are combined & split up into 3 smaller groups, with each of the smaller groups returning consistently to the same classes and ministries. We are hoping to really be able to invest time to build relationships in some of the same groups of people. The small team I am in is with Annie Cluff and myself from my team, Talitha Koum and Madison Groff & Hattie Eshleman from Team C3.

Already we have had the opportunity to be involved in a variety of things in just the past few days and I am so excited to see how the Lord will use me this month.

Here is what has been happening in a full week of ministry and what is planned throughout this month:

  • children’s outreach teaching in grade schools
  • speaking to High Schoolers, giving encouragement
  • visiting Church services and sharing testimonies
  • leading VBS/Bible club assemblies
  • singing, dancing, praying and building relationships
  • lead young adult bible studies
  • women’s ministry
  • evangelism (is it door to door when there are no doors?)
  • prayers for prisoners

In just this past week has been very busy and we have accomplished a lot toward leaving a lasting impression for the Kingdom of God. To God be the Glory!

Prayer requests

  • Hattie and I have been teaching a class of 5-6-year olds and it has been enjoyable to getting to know them and love on them. Pray for these kids here that we are working with.  Pray over their hearts as we work on investing in them.

  • Our small group team spoke at a high school and the high schoolers were asking a lot of amazing questions about faith and prayer and life and they clearly have a hunger for scripture. Pray over their hearts as we work on investing in them.

  • Prayers for the evangelism we will be doing. There is a voodoo priest and the teams are praying hard for salvation for him and his village. Pray for opportunity to speak life and the truth of Jesus and break the chains of voodoo in the village, all while providing a hedge of protection for our group.

  • We were supposed to do some prison ministry but so far have not been able to get authorization. Please pray that we get a chance in the next few weeks to take Jesus’ love to the prison here in Lomé.

  • With so much on each teams daily schedule please pray for restful nights, solid health, team unity and a renewed spirit each morning.

Please comment below – I would love to know my posts are reaching you.

So happy to see that I am within $4000 of being fully funded to keep me focused on staying “on the field’. My deepest appreciation to my supporters.

Thank you all as always, for your prayers and support!  <3
