The church construction continues! We spent this past week mixing and pouringcement for the church building’s foundation. Tuesday, we will begin to construct the walls. Learning more and more of the Pastor’s story
has continued to amaze me. I am really excited
to be a part of this church, and I am daily blown away by the hospitality of
the Christians here. A work day has not
gone by without at least two or three people coming to bring us drinks and
snacks, and many of the drinks and snacks we are told, come from ChiChi which
is about an hour bus ride away from where we
are. Yesterday, a few guys in the church
walked to a nearby tienda and bought a huge bag of fireworks for me to pop off
in celebration of the church’s construction! Today is our day off, so after breakfast the
Pastor and his sons led us for another hike through the mountains to an even
bigger waterfall than the one we saw before. After nearly killing myself climbing up the face of a cliff to get to
the top of the waterfall, we headed back, cleaned up and loaded a bus to head
here to ChiChi to buy some groceries and whatnot. Let me tell you about this
bus… Here, a bus means a small Toyota
van, which might have 10 seats. Then,
you cram 26 people in, and it is called a bus. The ride through the single lane, winding, mountain roads can be
completely exhilarating if you are into that sort of thing.

were given 3 possible ministry opportunities for next month in Nicaragua to
pray over. After a few days of prayer,
it became pretty clear that Team Jubilee would be game for whatever AIM threw
at us. So, Lord willing we will arrive
in Guatemala City on Nov. 6th to board an 18-20hr bus to rural
Nicaragua, where we will be working with an orphanage. Some of the things we are told we might be
doing include: taking care of the orphans, some gardening or construction work,
and preaching at a local church. Be
praying.
