Well, it has been a month since my last blog post. I have been busy with work and fun. I have had the toughest time at work followed by a great time of relaxation on vacation. I was blessed with the opportunity to go on a FREE cruise last week. I didn’t have to spend a dime. It was a great experience. I got to relax and have some fun. I am beginning to see the world differently when I go somewhere new. I see the people, and their needs. I see less of what I can get out of the trip and more of what I can do for them. I am grateful for the change in perspective. I cannot wait for the opportunities i will have on the World Race to do just that.

With two months until Training Camp, things are ramping up and it is all down hill from here. I still need prayers to get through these last months of work. On May 14th I will be traveling to GA for training camp. The camp is designed to get us in the right mindset for the traveling, the different living experiences, and the hardships we might incur. It will be the first time we meet each other in person and I cannot wait.

God has been gradually changing my heart in a specific area. I have never been very fond of children. I have volunteered at camps and cared for children at church, but I never really liked them much. They whine, cry, make messes, and are generally annoying. However, recently, God has been softening my heart. I am beginning to appreciate the things that others say are so great about kids.

My sister works with kids every day. She comes home and talks about what the kids do each day that she loves. Between her and all the videos I have been watching from the racers, I find myself smiling at their actions now. Some of the videos of kids worshiping at the children’s homes and playing are fun to see. I am excited to be able to love on some kids as the Bible has told us to do.

Matthew 18:1-19:30 ESV

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, ?Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?? And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, ?Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. ?Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me,

This experience leading up to the world race has been amazing. It is changing me in many ways. I am so ready to go.

Fundraising update: I am almost at 50% and have met my goal of $7600 for July. Thank you to all of the people who have been praying for me and to those who have donated. I am only able to come up with with a third from all of my saving up with work. The rest I will need to raise with the help of others like you. So please if you would like to then support me.

I have most of my gear and supplies. All i need is a mess kit and some specific clothes. If you would like to help me with these expenses, let me know. Everyone has been a huge blessing.
