The time finally came when our parents were able to come out and join us for a week of ministry. This is the time that we anticipated for months. Morning preparation was loud and full of excitement as we got dressed up World Race style… wearing borrowed clothes or clothes that smelled the cleanest. We got together for some prayer and worship before piling onto buses for the three hour ride to the airport to pick up our parents.
The first two days of ministry, we separated into various groups of racers and parents, then we got to join different missionaries in their ministries.
Day one: for my parents and I was working with the ministry “New Testament for Each Home”. We went to apartment building and put New Testaments in all of the mail boxes, prayed for the people who lived there and that would receive the Bibles. We also were able to talk to a few people that we meet along the way.
Day two: we joined Tavi and Nicoleta. Us women tried to learn how to make bracelets that the women make and sell to help support their families, then we went on a home visit with Nicoleta to share a testimony and pray for the lady that Nicoleta is mentoring. The men went to the shop to help Tavi work on building some bee hives.
We all took a little time to play with Tavi’s and Nicoleta’s two little girls!!
We came together as a big group for breakfast, dinner and for praise and worship.
On our third day of ministry we all worked together with 25/5 Kids club, were the kids competed in games, got their faces painted, participated in crafts, and heard Bible stories.
What better prize for the winning group of kids than a cute stuffed animal?
We closed our day with a BBQ with all of the missionaries and ministry contacts!
On the final full day with our parents, we split up again and went to a number of the churches in the area to share testimonies, songs, and messages before heading out.
