Welcome to Romania! First stop Bucharest, we arrived by bus and by train to come together for a night before saying good by for the month to team “Fight for Love” then head out to Draganesti. After a short walk and a subway ride, we arrived at the train station to prepare for our last leg of the trip to Draganesti, Olt.
Directly after arrival we went for a sort walk through town. One of the first things that I noticed was that there are benches outside the gates for people to sit outside and watch people and visit.
Like most towns, there are kids out playing and riding bikes, but as we got a little further, we found random sheep making their way through town.
We were taken up a small hill, through a graveyard,
to an open pasture that overlooks Draganesti. There, we sat and prayed over the town and our upcoming month of ministry.
Our team was split into two groups for the month. Group one; Kari Anna, Laura, and Stephanie helped with the after school kids club, sorting second hand clothes and also doing home visits.
Sarah, Trent, Addison and I worked in the office where Sarah worked as Raul’s (our ministry host/pastor of Hope Church) personal assistant. Hope Church has established a number of different ministries. All of us in the office worked on keeping supporters, friends, and ministry partners updated on the various ministries of Hope Church. We did this by updating Facebook, the web page, creating videos, updating prayer requests and posting photos. In addition to visiting ministry sites for the videos, I helped organize for the Parent Vision Trip at the end of the month.
Pictured below is a building project for “Buildings for Building the Kingdom”.
Another project is “Fishing Rod not a Fish’ where the local missionaries are starting gardens, bee farms, raising goats, and raising racing pigeons to support their families and ministries. Once they are able to provide for their families, they then use their growth to help more families start their own farms.
One of the video projects that I got to work on was making a short video of Hope Churches Sunday evening service for the web site.
It is amazing seeing the work that God is doing in this area through all of the missionaries and ministries that are partnered with Hope Church. If you would like to be involve or know more about them their email is [email protected].
I thought I would live you with a few images from a photo walk that I took with Alyssa and Brian. Enjoy!
