With all that is before me I would like to take a minute to step back to look at what brought me here. Unlike so many others I didn't have any of these countries on my heart nor did I ever expect to even visit them let alone be able to go there on a missions trip. Instead I have been restless since spring of last year, I thought that it was because I was finishing school and it was time to move on: when the crazy road trip and moving to a place that I had never been seem to even touch the restlessness that was overtaking me (even though I know God brought me out here to MO with Tawny and I am quite great-full that He brought me here); I started looking into different mission opportunities all over and with many different organizations, I looked into different jobs, tried looking into settling down… but at the end of the day it was always the world race that was on my heart and God telling me to trust Him and go!!!
Which brings me to what I expect from this trip:
I expect:
-to be completely taken out of my comfort zone.
-to do things that I never considered possible and will only be possible with Christ.
-to not sleep, not have any 'quiet' time or personal space.
-to get sick. -to miss my friends and family back home but gain friends and brothers and sisters!
-for God to provide for my financial needs to make this whole trip possible and to be showered in prayers from all of you who are joining me on this trip as God leads you both in prayer and financial support.
-to have my heart broken for God and His children in ways unimaginable.
-to be used for Christ.
-to never be the same.
Psalms 105:1 Oh, give thanks to The Lord call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!
1 Peter 2:4-5 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
