It almost feels like Christmas morning as I lie awake early in the morning in our hostel in Siem Reap. It may be the 50+ hours of travel or the fact that I’m pretty sure at one point I wondered if this town was even real or if I’d just be travelling to a non-existent place for the rest of my life. Either way, we finally meet our hosts, Roger and Deb today… it will be our first semi-official day of ministry! A tuk-tuk will pick us up in a few hours and take us to a house church where Roger and Deb will be.
When there, one of my teammates (Marin) will share a message and another (Bekah) will share her testimony. After that, we will get a chance to sit down with our hosts and learn more about what we will be doing for the rest of this month.
The month looks pretty vague so far. We do know that 4 days out of the week we will travel by tuk tuk, an hour away, to Po Peyl and live life with the locals there. It is a very small village… so small it’s hard to find anything about it on google
These days that’s really saying something! We know that there is no electricity or running water and we were told we will be sleeping in tents for those 4 days. It sounds like we are doing a lot of teaching, including some English classes.
The other 3 days out of the week we are be back here in Siem Reap in a hostel and working with the same house church and community that we will be meeting soon.
More on what we are doing in the small village of Po Peyl to come…
