If you would have told me in college that I would graduate
only to be a missionary, I probably would have laughed in your face. Me, the
girl who hates camping, is terrified of bugs, hyperventilates during cold
showers, move to a third-world country? The girl who had her entire life
planned out, was going to get her MBA and become a successful and rich CEO? No
way.
Well, as you can see I gradated from college 26 months ago
and I am still on this crazy journey to bring freedom to the captives around
the world. And I absolutely LOVE it. On January 3, 2009, I embarked on a
journey that would forever change my life. I played with orphans, held the
hands of women dying of AIDS, cried with prostitutes, fed the homeless, lived
in community with 51 other people and learn what it means to live a life of
reckless abandonment.
Going on the World Race changed my life and now, it’s my
turn to lead others through the process. In Spain this year, I learned about
leadership, vision-casting, and grace, and now I’m ready to put everything I
learned into practice.

So you may be thinking “what is the role of a squad leader?”
Squad leaders facilitate and lead the squad for the first 4-5
months of the Race. They develop leaders, set a culture of worship and honor,
cast vision, and have been given spiritual authority over the squad. They are
NOT babysitters, personal therapists, or fulltime World Race participants.

My heart is to see my generation heal the wounded of this
world. To see Gods kingdom in heaven come on earth and. To see the lame healed,
the dead raised, and t bring hope to the hopeless. As a squad leader I will get
to raise up and disciple leaders in my generation to become the men and women
God created them to be, as they go through the same life-changing situations I
went through last year.
I’m so excited to have this opportunity and to share it with
you. If you’re reading this, you’ve been on this journey with me from the
beginning and I thank you for that.
I have to raise about $8,000 to cover expenses for the year.
This includes plane tickets, food and accommodations. I will be on the field
until mid-January and then fly out to see the squad in April and July. If you
would like to support me you can follow the link on the side or read the
directions on my homepage.
in raising up a generation that’s going to impact the world!
