In other news, I’m in a Hungarian band. So thats cool. Actually, its a worship team that we put together for youth services. The guitar player is a 21 year old guy named Almi. The piano player is a 17 year old guy named Zoltan. Both of them are incredible musicians. They are ridiculously talented and its been really fun to work with them. The only problem is that I don’t speak Hungarian.  So that puts a damper on things and makes it a little difficult. I wanted to have band camaraderie, encourage them, get creative, come up with cool ideas and have fun, but its so hard! All I could think was “the language barrier is killing me right now!” So instead I have to settle for lots of thumbs up, smiles, high fives and head nods. We’d laugh a lot too, so that’s great. Mostly its me laughing because I have no idea what I’m doing half the time, since all the lyrics and songs are in Hungarian and I get lost sometimes. They know a little bit of English and they tell me I do a good job, so I hang onto that every time I feel I’m doing a brutal job.  I’ve definitely gotten the hang of it for most of the songs, so that’s nice. Did you know that the chord “H” stands for a “B”? It makes it pretty confusing at times!  Its always entertaining for me when we don’t have music or chord sheets for some songs and then Almi leans over and tells me what chords to play as we’re going along in front of everyone. Good thing I didn’t have a microphone! For some of the songs, Zoltan plays some sweet techno beat off of his keyboard and we worship in techno! True story! Its incredible! I get to worship to techno in Romania with Hungarians! Seriously! Is this my life? I love it!

Also, here’s a link for a video of me playing one of the songs from my EP while I was in Ireland. His camera died halfway through, but I hope you can still enjoy it nonetheless!
