We continued to wait upon the Lord and some of us wondered if we
should have gone to stay with another team and stay in a hostel with
them. But we felt very strongly that God was going to provide in one
way or another and were just waiting for that divine encounter.

While I played guitar on the street corner, I started to write a
new song about how God has prepared a place for us and we trust him.
Many people would walk by and watch us. Several cars would get honked
at as they stared out their windows to watch us and then not pay
attention to the light as it would turn green. We must have been quite
a sight with all of our backpacks and daypacks.

Two girls and a guy walked by and I felt like I needed to talk to
them. Immediately I stopped playing guitar, said hello and asked if
they spoke English. They said yes! They were from Germany and France. I
asked if they knew of any cheap hostels in the area or if they knew
where the YWAM base was. They didn’t know of the base, but they
recommended a place nearby called Elena’s House, and we said our thank
you’s and goodbyes. Heather and Stacy headed off to go look for it. It
was getting cold and the sun was starting to set. Where were we going
to stay for night? Lauren and I went to McDonalds to use the internet.
Lauren was looking for possible new places to stay.

About an hour or so later Tamica and Stacy came running up to us
with huge smiles on their faces. Almost exploding with excitement they
tell us how they found a place for to stay and its amazing. We were no longer homeless in Budapest!

They wouldn’t tell us anything. Where it is, what it is, or what it looks like. The
only hint we got was that we could do exactly what we were doing now
(aka internet) there. “We’ve got wi-fi?!” I exclaimed.  They led us to
a building a few blocks away to a place called Nova Apartments. We went
inside, climbed the stairs and Tamica made me close my eyes as I walked
into the room. “Ok, you can open them!” she said and you could hear the
big smile in her voice.

So I did and was blown away. Stacy proceeded to give us a tour
around our gorgeous new apartement flat. We have two bedrooms, a
bathroom, kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, couch, tv, microwave,
wi-fi and balconies out of two rooms. Wow did God provide for us above
and beyond anything we could have hoped for.  I believe our budget was
somewhere around 100 Euros at the max to spend on housing.  We found
out that the price for this flat was 70 Euros but Jody, a New Zealander
who worked for Nova, talked to her boss, pulled some strings and
knocked off another 10 Euros. So we only had to pay 60 for the night.
Other hostels we had been looking at were around 80 Euros for seven of
us. So we were pumped!

But wait, there’s more! The Lord had one more surprise for us. Stacy led us down the hallway, through some doors to another apartment
room. This one was for the guys on our team and Jody/Nova Apartments
gave it to us for FREE.

My God is the God who provides. He really came through for us in a huge way.

And to top it all off, I later found out the building was yellow. I just hadn’t noticed it in the dark on our way there.
