We’re heading to Africa!!!!
Goodbye Israel! Its been fun and we’ll miss you and all your rich history.
We are taking the night bus to Egypt and will arrive there around 4 or 5am and spend the day there. In the evening we’re catching a late flight from Cairo to Nairobi, Kenya. We’ll get there early in the morning and then rest up for a few days before my team will head off to Kampala, Uganda for the remainder of the month. We’ve got two back to back days of traveling. It’ll be long but good.
My team, Sofia, will be partnered with team Phoenix. We will be working with child head families in the slums of the city. Child head families are families who have lost their parents usually to HIV or AIDS and now the oldest child has to take care of their brothers and sisters. But they’re still little kids. I can’t imagine what it must be like. Their childhood is severly cut short as they are now responsible for the rest of their family. I have a feeling that it will break my heart. But it will be incredible to come alongside them and be Jesus to them. When we get there we will find out more of what this ministry looks like. I have no idea what to expect. Actually, I feel that way about all of Africa in general. I’ve never been there before and I’m a little nervous about it. I’ve got a few fears and apprehensions. But I know that God has me and my team in his hands and will take only the best care of us. Before I left on the race I was praying and had a feeling that God would give me a heart for Africa that I never knew I had. I just really feel like God is going to do amazing things while we are there. I don’t know what, but I just feel it in my spirit.
We’re definitely moving into a new season here on the race. Everything we have gone through up until this point was to get us ready for what we are about to step into. It almost feels like I’m only starting the race now. All I can think right now is “God break my heart for what breaks yours!”. I just want him to use me. I want to transform and  be transformed myself.
I truly look forward to updating you as I go forward into this next season. I have no idea how much internet access I’ll have, but I will do my best to stay in touch and keep you in the loop when I can. Pictures might be a little short though. Sorry I haven’t been able to post many lately.
Thank you so much for all the love and prayers. They’re not in vain. I have a feeling we’ll see the fruition of them alot over the next three months.
Africa, I’m here to love you. Here I come!
