This month we are working as a single team with a group of missionaries and evangelists called life and light ministries. When we originally arrived in Diriamba we were greeted with a rice, fried plantain, and chicken dinner, and then briefed on what our month would look like. It is going to look a lot different to say the least. We were given a schedule, which in itself was a huge change from last month, and it pretty much went like this… Travel, door to door evangelism, preach… travel, evangelize, preach … wash and repeat.
So now 6 days into this new journey we have dove into the life of these evangelist missionaries. We travel and live life together. Although there is a language barrier, their actions speak clearly, and I am learning tremendously from each of them, expecially about servant hood What they sacrifice to be here is monumental. They work for part of the year at their trade (construction, shoe repair, etc) in order to earn enough money to travel Central America sharing the gospel. Each of them has a family and children at home. In the poorest country in Central America they sacrifice that time with their family to respond to the call and passion in their heart.
It is a great blessing for them for us to be here, especially to help financially, but I am learning more everyday how mutually beneficial our time together is going to be.
We are currently on the island of Ometepe in the middle of lake Nicaragua. We will be here until Sunday when we will take a ferry and a bus ride to a farm in San Marcos.I just wanted to share with you a brief update and let you know the “just” of what we are doing here. Expect a blog very soon about where my heart is and what God is doing here.
Thank you so much for your continued support. I am still in need of financial support and if you feel God is pointing you in that direction you can make a donation by clicking on the support me page at the top left.
To him be the glory forever and ever Amen.
