Going on a long term mission trip in another country has always been a dream of mine but it was just that, a dream. I never thought I’d actually apply for one, get accepted, or be crazy enough to commit to going into a different country on a mission trip with a whole bunch of people I don’t know.
But that’s just how God works I guess and here I am getting ready to travel to Africa, Asia and Central America in less than 4 short months. ((WHAT?! Can’t believe it’s coming up so fast!!!)) When I came across the World Race website, I knew it wasn’t a mistake, and I knew it was something I had to apply for. It seems like the decision to leave the country for 9 months should be a tough one, but honestly I felt so much peace about applying that it wasn’t too hard of a decision. Don’t get me wrong, there is still plenty of things about this mission trip that I am worried about.
Where is the $12,487 going to come from?
What about all the big beetles and spiders and other creepy crawly things in other countries?
What kind of food am I going to eat? (I mighttttt be a picky eater)
But…. I am confident that God has all of this already planned out for me and that I shouldn’t worry. To God, the $12,487 that I have to fund raise is nothing. I know that this is where God wants me right now, and that gives me peace.
((Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? -Luke 12:25))
As for college- that can wait. I’m not sure what my life after this mission trip will look like or where I will end up, but for now I am definitely planning on going to college when I get back.
I am SO excited to have this opportunity.
