Do you see it?

So often, we easily fall into the mindset that we need to look for the big ah ha God moments, that we can only heavily impact the kingdom through the big.

But…..

Each and every day we have what seems like a thousand opportunities to make an eternal impact. Most of the time, though, we are so focused on ourselves and what we want that we miss the little things. We don’t choose to sit and talk with that one homeless man. We don’t choose to pray for that random person you pass that is having a bad day. You don’t choose to proclaim the name of Jesus to the cashier. We choose so often to not proclaim the good news or to speak love into lives. So often we plug in our headphones and toon out the world when in reality it’s the world that needs to be plugged in too.

In the book of Romans it says that we as christians have been entrusted with the very words of God. We have been entrusted with God himself. The word was with God and the word was God. We have that knowledge. The knowledge of good and evil; of right and wrong; of eternal life or eternal death! What we choose to do with that is everything. Our only purpose on earth is to proclaim the good news. Our only purpose is to serve the one and only Living God. The two commandments are to love the lord your god with all your heart and to love your neighbors as much as yourself. He entrusted us with other people’s lives. That is Crazy!!! We take so much for granted.

Just like today for example. On a bus heading in to Bacolod from Granada there was a girl sitting across from us. Instead of tuning the panic rush and noise out, the lord opened yet another door for me. So I engaged in a conversation with her. I opened up to her. I showed her Jesus’s love through a smile and simple conversation and it opened the door to the opportunity to go much deeper. We ended the conversation praying for her grandmother that is in the hospital. We got to know her life and her personal relationship with the lord. Her catholic background and where she was at now. God used that divine appointment to pour into her though us. We made a relationship out of nothing. We we able to bring kingdom through the smallest, seemingly most ordinary moment and the door to an eternal impact flew open.

Look for the small things. God shows up in both small and big ways. He is always there with some kind of door open you just have to see it.
