I’ve asked the Lord to help me see opportunities to write.Well today my bus got stuck in the snow.As we are waiting for help the Lord’s like you are snowed in, so why not let me in?
I began praying for my surroundings. The people and their travels.Between my bus transfers I usually don’t have a long commute with the same people as we all go different directions. This morning was different. With delayed bus schedules due to weather and now sitting here stuck in a round a bout I’m thankful.Everyone is safe. The opportunity just to do life with people for a little while is what motivated me to find joy in this.I got to share a little bit about my heart just by actions.
The conversation with the bus driver was my favorite. It’s one that usually doesn’t consist more of “good morning” and “thank you!” Today was different.
The driver cory, was doing his best to remain calm and make sure everyone was safe. There were angry and anxious people wanting off the bus.As everyone rapidly got off the bus to walk to the next stop, which would make no difference because the other buses couldn’t get to it until we moved I was the only one who wanted to stay warm I guess I remained seated.
The bus driver sighed deeply.I proceed to thank him and ask how he was doing. He said it had been a really good day until now.He wanted to be home with his family. He said appreciated that I asked him about His family. Cory asked why I wasn’t in a hurry Like everyone else seemed to be in a sarcastic tone.
I told him that it wasn’t going to make a difference when I got there I wanted to choose Joy in a situation I couldn’t control.Plus I’d rather stay warm and wait for the next bus or ours to be unstuck.
He asked about my necklace, I smiled and showed it to him. It’s a key that says “JOY“.I told him that this year the Lord gave me this word to work on.It is a “KEY” reminder in my journey in finding my confidence and joy in Christ.I wear it everyday to have a physical reminder.
This isn’t the first time someone has asked me about my necklace. That’s why I wear it everyday. It opens up so many opportunities to share my heart for Christ and the World Race!
The key necklaces are through a company called “Keys for the Journey”.I love the heart behind them and you can check them out at:

It may have been an inconvenience to many to be stuck on a bus but the Lord helped me see it as an opportunity to serve Him!
What inconvenience can you see as an opportunity this week?!
