“Like a rose, trampled on the ground,

You took the fall, and thought of me, above all.”

Wednesday morning we started our first full day of ministry of the week, and boy is it full. I’m so excited.

I started my ministry with our pastor, Isaiah, and Julie as we prayer walked to the park many of team will be serving at tonight, playing with kids and inviting them into community with us. As we were walking, I happened to spot a rose in someone’s courtyard. It was beautiful. I didn’t stop though, I kept walking and praying. I immediately started singing “Above All”  in my head. It has always been one of my favorites. It’s such a beautiful word picture of what Jesus did for all of us.

Then I immediately wanted a rose to take a picture, and share it with y’all. I wanted to share that Jesus is our perfect rose. He bore our thorns, allowed Himself ot be sacrificed for our sin, all for us. Because He loves us.

As I have been walking throughout this city praying and connecting with so many people, I am leaning into Papa more, asking to hear His heartbeat.

After we prayed over the playground where our team will serve tonight, we left and started to head back to the church. I was still singing the song, wishing I had taken the time to stop and smell the roses, and there was this beautiful rose in another courtyard just outside the playground.

My heart swelled. I knew God gave me this rose as a reminder of His great love for me, and this city. This Great Romance is the best of all, and He loves you just as much.
