Pastor John, Derek, and Jack. Pastor John and Jack are part of Spiritual Life Missions and have planted multiple churches in the town of Butere.

Easter is Pastor John’s youngest child. Easter enjoyed giving us hugs early in the morning and eating popcorn while watching a movie on Steph’s iPhone!

When we would return from ministry in the evenings, the children would be anticipating our arrival on the compound. They thoroughly enjoyed getting their picture “snapped!”

Walking to ministry!

Some days we would have the ride of our lives as we rode a picky picky to ministry.

Goatie McGoaterson (named by Derek) lived on our compound. We would feed Goatie our leftover banana peels and mango leaves!

Brody and Derek playing “Simon Says” with students at a local Primary School.

We spoke to large groups of children about sexual purity and avoiding using alcohol and drugs.

This is what our Vibrams looked like after Steph and I completed what we like to call our “Mud runs.”

Last month the boys on our team made a commitment to do 100 pushups per day. They usually did them three times a day before breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At each of those times, they would do three sets of 11, and add that extra push up in during one of the sets.

Amanda and I had the privilege of teaching at a primary school in the mornings. We had 150 students in each of our classes! I taught second and third grade English, and Amanda taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Mathematics. This photo includes the kind and hard working teachers from the school. We are so thankful for their warm welcome!

On our last day of teaching, the faculty put on a special lunch for us. Daily, the faculty meets together to eat lunch. Unlike many teacher lounges in America, this lunchtime is filled with friendly conversation and encouragement! When the teachers discovered we enjoy fruit, they prepared a delicious fruit salad! Avocados, bananas, papaya, mango, apples, passion fruit, oh my!

Pastor John is a man than shows the love of Christ to all he interacts with. We are so thankful for the privilege of serving along side him this month. He loves the children and they are always welcome in his home.

This is one of the many breathtaking views we enjoyed the past month. We serve an amazing Creator!

While visiting a boarding school, we found a Frangi Pangi Tree that reminded me of my home in Lake Worth, Florida! These flowers are beautiful and fragrant…much like the girls on my team! I am so thankful for these women who exude beauty from the inside out. Their love for Christ and others is a fragrant aroma that is pleasing to our Abba!
