October 9, 2012, Today is the 100th day of the Race!!!!  Time is such a tricky thing…some days seem to crawl by, and other days fly.  For Team time today, we celebrated the 100th day of the World Race by listing 100 memories-good, bad, and funny-from each of our personal experiences.  Below are 100 memories from Derek and my memory banks!  Enjoy!
 
Memories from Launch and India
 
1.  Our last American meal was Chipotle at the Washington D.C. airport. 
2.  Riding on Qatar airlines to India and getting served hot, moist baby wipes to wash our hands.
3.  Taking our first 8 hour bus ride in India.
4.  Buffalo slapping game.
5.  Our former teammate, Michael Clevenger, not releasing his bowels for 10 whole days!
6.  Our first amazing translator, Abraham!
7.  Our first breakfast in India being crescent rolls, cinnamon buns, and French bread from a French bakery.
8.  Delicious mangoes, grapes, and communion bread for breakfast.
9.  Our squatty potty in the village.
10. Drawing water from the well for every bucket shower and laundry days.
11.  Doing Insanity on the rooftop of the church we stayed at in the village.
12.  Our generous fruit stand man in the village.
13.  The “egg thing” we would order for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
14.  Riding a camel.
15.  The attack of the rabid kangaroos.
16.  The midnight rains while sleeping on the rooftop of the church.
17.  A blind woman named Orna receiving her sight after praying for her.
18.  Our first monkey sighting near a temple on our way to ministry, riding in a tuk tuk.
19. Tuk Tuks!
20.  Bat sighting, 1,000 or more bats in a massive tree, while our translator used his hidden bat calling talents.
21.  Seeing The Dark Night Rises Batman Movie at the end of the month.
22.  Hard Rock Café to celebrate our first month of the Race!  How refreshing after curry, curry, curry!

 
Memories from Nepal
 
23.   Working along side Rueben, Rita, and their family.
24.   Tzadik58 and Salt and Light Teams = Breakfast club.
25.  A one hour hike for locals, a five hour hike for us,  in the mountains to arrive at a Bungalo and stay with Rueben’s family.
26.  Playing soccer on the Field of Dreams.
27.  Fishing with poop/cornmeal balls, a stick, and a castnet.
28.  Showering from water flowing down a mountain out of a bamboo shoot.
29.  Going to fetch drinking water from that same bamboo shoot.
30.  Making lemonade with Jason and Joel.
31.  Elephant Safari.
32.  Derek making his famous garlic mashed potatoes 3 times in one month.
33.  Celebrating Christmas in August.
34.  Finding an sweet trail to run on halfway through the month.
35.  The stairway on the side of the house, Christina’s quiet time spot for the month.
36.  Henna time.
37.  Watching some of the Olympics in a tree house.
38.  Himalayan Java: a coffee shop that had amazing mango smoothies, mocha browniccino, and pesto paninis!
39.  OR2K, an incredible vegetarian restaurant.
40.  Kathmandu Guesthouse.
41.  Teaching computer classes to students from a Bible college.
42.  Assisting with the only Bible distribution in Nepal.
43.  Local Nepali workers digging a well in the front area of our house for the last week.
44.  Christina’s prophecy of a blender being in Nepal coming true.
45.  The last night there, making mango, orange juice, banana smoothies with that blender.
46.  Peppers, tomatoes, and onion omelettes for breakfast.
47.  Being very encouraged by a church we visited our last Sunday in Nepal.  The faith of the men and women here was deep!
48.  Derek playing a keyboard at that church.
49.  Squalf, disc golf, in the house.  Played with a container lid for the disc, and a trash receptacle.
50.  The cockroach zapper.
51.  The “Little Bear” and “Kinder Joy” craze.
52.  Almost getting attacked by monkeys in the kitchen while preparing food for the Bible college students.
 

Memories from Thailand
 
53.  Smoothies made by a woman named “Love.”
54.  Daily pineapple.
55.  Working on The Dream Project with women from The Ruth Center.
56.  Taco night at Steve and Heather’s two times.
57.  Picking up trash in the slums of Bangkok.
58.  Vegetables with egg for lunch and dinner.
59.  TOPS and Tesco Lotus supermarkets.
60.  Van ride to the Seven Layer Waterfall.
61.  Playing in God’s glorious creation at the Seven Layer Waterfall.
62.  Staying at the YWAM base.
63.  Breakfast and worship with the YWAM staff in a bamboo hut.
64.  The Crocodile Farm.
65.  Concrete construction, mixing by hand.
66.  Disco bowling with Tzadik58!
67.  Phat Seu.
68.  Chicken coconut soup with fried noodle from The Turtle.
69.  Brody joining Tzadik58.
70.  Lane eating bugs for a snack.
71.  The relationships we built with Pee Noi, Pee Koy, Pee Mon, and Pee Shleen.
72.  The King’s Garden with Shelly, Ginlove, and Amanda.
73.  The King’s Palace and seeing the Relaxing AND Emerald Buudah.
74.  Daily runs with Beka at the park.
75.  An outdoor gym the Lord provided for us.
76.  A drum set for Derek to play at the YWAM base.
77.  Derek being asked in Thai if he knew a song.  He was given the words in Thai to help him, then he asked the women to start singing, and he began playing along, without knowing the song.  J
78.  Renting motorbikes in Phuket for the day. J
79.  Coral Island!!!
80.  Team change from Tzadik58 to Greater Love <3.
81.  Running on the beach in Phuket and laying out with my Beka Boo!
82.  Mexican restaurant in Phuket with Drew and Derek.
83.  Fancy bus ride from Bangkok to Phuket.
84. Banana Roatie.
85. Watching Inception for the first time with my Babes, while eating German dark chocolate with hazelnuts.
86.  Dairy Queen blizzard.
87.  Derek’s fulfilled prophecy about a Sungtao (truck taxi) coming around the corner and us catching it, while filming.
88.  Poker night with Steve and the boys, Phase10 with ministry contacts and the girls.
 

Memories from Malaysia
 
89.   Assisting with the kindergarten school, Character building, and English classes.
90.   Our home in Malaysia at the Kindergarten school.
91.   Spotting a dead cow on the side of the rode while running, this gave a whole new definition to road kill.
92.   Throwing up day one of Malaysia and diarrhea day 3 of Malaysia.
93.    Spotting a blender in our ministry contact’s home.
94.    Preparing delicious stir fry vegetables at our contact’s home.
95.    Derek playing music and singing with the students in Kindergarten: Old McDonald, Hokey Pokey…
96.    Girls’ night with Jamie, Amanda, and Steph: dark chocolate covered almonds, face masks, The Help, and girl talk.
97.    Derek’s birthday celebration: bowling and chocolate mud cake.
98.    Coffee shop and Marry Brown’s Internet.
99.  Our first meal we cooked in Malaysia: Vegetable stir fry!
