This month in Thailand, we have been going into the bars to tell the people there that they have an amazing Father in Heaven that loves them. Well, Jesus has decided he wanted to tell us K squad girls the same thing. On our day off we decided we would go to the beach. During that day, God decided to spoil us a lot and he taught us a huge lesson and made it very clear that we are his daughters. The day was too good to be a coincidence.
(I would have pictures to go along but there have been some technical difficulties)
* FREE RIDE: The day started by needing to catch a bus to get to the beach. So we prayed. “Jesus, help us get a free ride to the beach:” Not but five minutes later, a truck pulled up and asked us where we were going. Of course we hopped in the back and headed on our way for free.
* NACHOS: We started out in a coffee shop. Lindsay saw a man with a plate of delicous nachos. She has wanted nachos the entire race. Of course, we found it was a very expensive plate of nachos. So Bethany prayed, “Dear Jesus, please let that man give Lindsay his plate of nachos.” Lindsay had walked over to ask him if they were worth buying. Not but five minutes later, Lindsay is strutting back to us with her new plate of nachos after the man kindly gave them away to Lindsay. She didn’t even ask him for them. But we asked Jesus.
*PAY: So a few days back when I was doing ministry at the bars, I met a women on the beach who had been in prostitution. We had an amazing talk with her. She was very drunk so we didn’t know how much she retained, but Katie and I fell in love with her. No one else got to meet her though. Her name was Pay. Really didn’t think I would see her again………..Now on our day off, Bethany decided to go for a walk alone on the beach. She was very far down and decided to ask Jesus who she should talk to. She turned around and there was a Thai lady sitting alone and Bethany knew that is who God wanted her to talk to. Then God told Bethany to ask her if she new Katie and me. Well of course she did. It was Pay. Pay was able to get another little piece of Jesus by talking to Bethany. God really does talk to us.
*SUNGLASSES: I went in the sea to find Tamica swimming. She said about a half hour ealier she forgot she had her sunglasses on and dove into a wave and lost them. I told her she would find them. She said she tried. So I said that Jesus would help her find them. Seriously, five minutes later, she steps on and recovers her sunglasses in the middle of open water. Thanks you Jesus.
*SANDALS: I was walking down the street with Lindsay. She saw a girl wearing AMAZING sandals. The girl said she bought them three months ago somewhere far away from where we were. But of course, we turn the corner and lined up down the street were the same sandals in all different colors. I asked Lindsay how much she would pay and she said 200 bhaut. What do we see next, but a sign for 199. She got them of course.
*DANCING: We met up with Nicole to hear the best story EVER. So she was in the grocery store and a sweet Thai dance song came one. Nicole said, “Jesus, it would really make my day if someone danced down the aisle right now.” Nicole said she turned around and all the employees at the grocery store were doing a choreographed dance in the aisle. Ok, Jesus, now you are just showing off. Dead serious though, there is even video. I think Nicole joined in too.
*SONG: So Bethany and I had walked down one of the really intense bar areas before we left for the night to say hello to one of the girls that she had met. It was just a really sad area and the girls all looked sad. I knew Jesus wanted to do something with this place and love on these girls but sometimes it can feel hopeless. But not that night. Jesus gave me the best present ever for me. He wanted to let us know he was there. All of a sudden, I song came on that the DJ put on. It blasted down the street. It was the worship song called, “Who Am I” by Casting Crowns. “Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth, would care to know my name, would care to feel my hurt.” Jesus was in the bars and he knew he wanted to let me know there was hope there. I remember raising my hands and just crying. I ran to the DJ and asked if we made a CD if he would play it down here. He said YES.
There were a few more detials of this day that would make the blog really long. But God showed me show much that we are his children. And that he really does give good gifts to us. It was one of the best days on the race. Being spoiled by Jesus isn’t so bad………….
Oh and a few days later, Bethany asked God for toothpaste cause she had no money, and she met some random people that day who gave her $200.
