Being squad leader now, I have the opportunity to really get to know all these incredible racers. I am seriously obsessed with them. They make me laugh so hard and they speak words of life into me all of them time. I love them and I want to brag about them. Throughout the year I will post blogs about these individuals as I get to know them better.
I will introduce you to one at a time as I get to know them and spend more time with them.

Here is our first K squad rock star of the series

                               ASHLEY WEAVER

Ashley is without a doubt one of a kind. I was able to spend the first 3 months on her team.
Once you have met her you have experienced living. Not a moment is lost with her.
She is FULL of one liners. She is one of the sweetest and most hilarious people you would ever meet.
She is far from drama girl and I have never EVER heard her talk poorly of anyone.
She let’s every emotion run on her face even if she thinks she is all by herself.
You can find her doing back flips in the fields, or sitting in her forts she makes for her space. Her top bunk is sheltered by hanging blankets, the edge of her bunk lined with encyclopedias, her cealing is hung with a paper made Christmas tree and pictures. Her bed also has a corner for her food pantry and other items. She has a very obvious habit of going through a serious session of “nesting” in every new place she sleeps.
When she hugs you it lasts a very long time and will include laughing and crying when she is excited to see you.
I have never seen anyone so motivated and serious with a knife when trying to make a cardboard Christmas Tree.
She will probably ask to “dream” with you when she hangs out with you.
She is known for, when having a hard time, break down in serious sobbing and follow with uncontrollable laughter.
She listens really well.
I have never heard anyone read the bible with such emotion as when she does. Sometimes she will even yell a little in order for you to get the point that Jesus loves you when you are doubting. When she reads scripture she will cry and speak as loud as she can with every bit of energy she has.

Moment: One of my favorite Ashley moments was in Turkey. There were 5 of us girls sitting in McDonalds and were having a very serious conversation. Ashley all of a sudden became disengaged and started crying very hard. We asked her what was wrong. She says, “I just remembered my dream. (crying some more). Yeah. Oh. Well since we are on a technology ban I asked Jesus if he could sing Christmas songs to me in my sleep. (she starts crying even harder). And I just remembered that in my dream last night Jesus sang Christmas songs to me. (crying even a lot more now).”   Adios serious conversation.
And that is to show, that when something touches Ashley, it just takes over.
It can be something so small and it has made the rest of her day.

Once someone bought her oreos on the race. As you can tell, she is touched so easily by a simple act.

                                                                      FAVORITE QUOTE by ASHLEY:
“Do you think when we get to heaven we can do animal things.
Like if you are a bird you can fly or if you are a frog…you could frog.”
