I need to start this blog with a disclaimer: we do not have a typical living situation in Peru, thus this is not likely the way the locals do their laundry. Nor have we done our laundry the same way twice.
Our team is living with another team at a children’s home that is still being prepared for children.
I have been doing my laundry in the shower and sink.
Step 1: Fill the blue tub (or a large pot) with water and dish soap
Step 2: Add some dirty clothes, swirl them around and/or let them soak
Step 3: Take out an article of clothing and scrub it with the scrub brush
Step 4: Ring the soap out as best you can.

Step 5: Bring the clothing to the sink to rinse it. Run the water and squeeze the soap out
Step 6: Lay clean but wet clothing on the top of the toilet seat.
Step 7: Repeat steps 3-6 until that batch of clothing is complete.
Step 8: Walk the clothes outside and hang them up to dry.
Step 9: Repeat until all clothes are clean.
Additional Information:
Not a lot of clothes fit into the blue tub at once, maybe 5 or so articles depending on the size.
It is really hot here and so clothes dry very quickly (if it’s on the line by noon it will be dry by 5)! However, light articles of clothing, like underwear or wash clothes, are likely to blow off the line if it is windy.
