Well I can hardly believe that a month has gone by already! In some ways it has drug but in some ways it has flew by. The girls that I taught guitar too totally surprised me with little gifts and notes! It was super sweet. The guys that spent a lot of time with also bought up little bracelets and our contacts bought us baseball hats!!
I’m really hoping that all our travel days aren’t anything like this 🙂 Here was the itinerary- Feb. 3rd:
2am – Leave Azua via bus to head to airport
4:30am – Arrive at Santo Domingo Airport
7 am -Fly from Santo Domingo to Miami
8:30 am – Arrive at Miami (it had been 2.5 hours hooray for time change)
Though we were here for 5 hours, I at least got to have Dunkin Donuts!!
2:15pm – Load our plane to Peru. I don’t think we left until 3pm
8:30pm – Landed in Peru – we had to go threw security before going to our connecting flight
9:30pm – Load plane to Ecuador
Midnight – Land in Ecuador
I slept on most of the plane rides – except for the second half of Miami to Peru. To all of my geek friends, you should be proud of me because I watched Star Wars Episode 5 on the plane 🙂
The Peru airport was by far my favorite as they seemed to have the neatest souvenirs, but I didn’t buy any.
All in all it only took us 22 hours to reach Quito, Ecuador.
We are staying in a place called CasaBlanca for a few days while we get situated. So far it reminds me of a place where you might take a retreat. They have real beds here (for the girls anyways) and the guys have mattresses on the floor. We have running water, and I can take a warm shower- my hair is going to be soooo happy!
