I just want to first say that I am soooo sorry I have not really been able to blog and update you on what is going on. East Africa is not very tech savy, the power goes out almost every day π Nonetheless we have been in Bugiri, Uganda since the 27th of July and time is flying by!! I have many things that I want to share, pictures I want to show you, but I do not have a lot of time nor can I really load pictures at this cafe π
Ministry has been really awesome this month, when we’ve been able to go. We have visited many schools and held mini VBS’s- meaning we go, teach the children a bible story, sing songs and play games with them. Then in the afternoon we go from house to house to pray for people and just talk with them about how they are doing. On Saturday’s we have been going to a hospital in the afternoon and praying for the people in the wards – it has been awesome!! The remainder of our time here will be spent traveling to different churches and preaching -provided that our truck does not break down again.
The other day we tried to go to ministry after it had rained, the roads were slippery and we got stuck 4 times. I don’t mean a little stuck, I mean we all had to get out of the truck, the boys had to push, we had to lay down leaves for traction, we had to dig holes, and at times we even had to walk a block before it was really safe to get back in!! It was loads of fun π
There is a very large Muslim population that lives here. As in many communities there are three or four times as many children as there are adults. There are 8 year olds carrying around their baby siblings. It’s common for men to have more than one wife. The boys are really enjoying the Mountain Dew to which they have an unhealthy obsession π
I have many more blogs that I want to write and I hope to have the time to do them in two weeks when we are in debrief!! Please forgive me for not being able to post more at this time! Before September I promise that I will have pictures up from the last two months!! Miss you all!! God Bless
