A majority of our ministry this month was building a house for future teams to stay in while they are at Remember Nhu. When we first arrived I was very excited to know that there was going to be manual labor!!! My body, though, was not entirely ready for 4 full days of construction a week. After this month I feel like I can really expand my resume. We dug footings between all the pole that had already been set, unbent 20 foot long re barb hair pin things, cut re barb, mixed (by hand, well technically by shovel) many man bags of cement, split cement bricks, set concrete & bricks in the footings, mixed mortar, laid bricks, dug trenches for the plumbing, set two corner poles for the bathroom, painted the steel pieces for the roof to prevent rusting, laid gravel for the floor and set a layer of concrete to re level the walls after 6 layers. Let me tell you that is has been a heck of a month! So, while you sit there in your comfortable computer chair, in a comfortable temperature and relax you can look at some pictures of us working our butts off 🙂
